MOU.doc <br />II. General Pilot Pa~tner Responsibilities <br />This section sets forth the general responsibilities of all Partners in the Program. The next section <br />describes specific additional responsibilities and schedule commitments of Partners with built <br />projects ("operarional partners"), and partners whose projects are in the design phase ("design <br />partners"). <br />A. Identification of Partner and Eligibitity. A Partner is an organization that is accepted for <br />participation in the Program by USGBC and signs this MOU. To be considered for acceptance <br />into the Program, the organization must be a commercial building owner or developer and must <br />nominate a facility as a pilot project. The facility may be one of two types: (1) where <br />construction is substantially complete, the building is occupied, and operations are active (a "built <br />project"), or (2) where the facility is sti11 in the design phase (a "design project"). The Partner <br />agrees that it has financial and operational control of the pilot pmject facility. <br />B. LEEDTM Pilot Project Champion. TI~e Partner agrees to designate a senior representative <br />of the organization (named in this MOt~ as LEEDTM Pilot Project Champion. The LEEDTM Pilot <br />Project Champion will be the person charged with ensuring that the Partner successfully carries <br />out its responsibilities and commitments ~s stated in this MOU, and the Partner agrees that the <br />LEEDTM Project Champion has the authority needed to execute those responsibilities and <br />commitments. The Partner agrees to norify USGBC in writing within two weeks of any change in <br />the designation of the LEEDTM Pilot Project Champion. The LEEDT"t Pilot Project Champion <br />responsibilities include: <br />1. Fstablishing and overseeing the Partner's implementation plan, which includes the sect~ring <br />of personnel and financial resources. <br />2. The scheduling of required design, construction, testing and operations for compliance <br />with the LEEDTM Green Building Rating System. <br />3. Coordinating the Partner's participation and completion of the Evaluation Protocol. <br />4. Facilitating communication with USGBC. <br />5. Reporting the Partner's progress to USGBC during the Program: <br />C. Staff Commihnen~ The Partner should anticipate devoting a combination of internal (staffl <br />and external (consultantfcontractor) personnel resources at the approximate level of 10% person- <br />year for every 50,000 square feet of facility space. Partner duties include scoping the green <br />building program, tracking studies, reviewing analysis and documentation, and managing other <br />aspects of the Partner's participation in th~ Program. The Partner agrees to provide adequate staff <br />to fulfill the responsibilities and commi~~:-,nts it undertakes in this MOU. <br />2 <br />
