remove while they are on site? Pence/Kelly felt they should be removed by Staton. If they
need to be removed, let's look at the best time to remove and most cost effective. It was
~ recommended that Kathleen get a change order with all associated costs before they do it and it
will be reviewed first and a decision made.
Lane closures are scheduled for Court and High Streets from Tuesday through Friday. The city
had indicated that they would waive all fees, but the Statesman is being charged fees. Randy and
R. G. will address this issue with the city during their meeting. Transit expressed concern with
the closure of High Street and its effect on buses. They need the last 50 feet of the first lane of
High before Court Street to make it into the bus lanes. Kathleen will review and make sure that
this can be accommodated. Ra.ndy relayed an incident with neighboring business having an
increase in business due to barricades around Senator block. The only negative would be noise
created by equipment.
One more item discussed was the timeframe of Staton stopping and Pence/Kelly beginning work
on the site. With regazd to the tanks under the sidewalks, should they try and remove now or
treat as part of hot spot removal. The contract calls for sidewalk removal, but leave the curb in
place. Pence/Kelly believes Staton will remove curbs at a later date. Kathleen will double check
the contract to see that we don't have holes in this budget item. Kathleen will also provide
alternate curb price for Dave. Curbs need to be left in for water direction. It was decided that
Courthouse Square assume responsibility for any environmental problem found under the
sidewalk. You have a better stance with DEQ to acknowledge it and then deal with the
remediation to correct the problem rather than try to chase it.
Discussions resumed with the agenda item Acoustical/Vibration. We will have something next
week and some alternates re: vibrations. Also county and transit will have to make some
decisions regarding sound transmission issues. NIlVIDC will provide more details on standa.rd
criteria required for different occupancies later.
Post tension was covered previously.
Permitting
During the pre-application process meeting with the city, the timing of permits was reviewed for
the August 15`~ structure permits. It will take at least 6 weeks initially, during which time
everyone involved in the process at the city has an opportunity to look at it, then another 3 weeks
for a final. We can live with 9 weeks, but we need to stay on top of it. We need to nail down
permit fees. There will be connection fees but not SDC. Based on new usage of building, overall
water usage and sanitary should go down and there should be some credits from the city. The
transportation SDC is not payable until later. Interface will look into these areas and get some
calculations done for the budget.
Structural-Post Tension vs. Conventional Reinforcement
We are comfortable with post tension and use of sleeves for electrical. We will continue to carry
this item to get details down.
~+ Heavy loading areas need to be identified so Mike can incorporate into design. Leonazd has had
discussions with Mike and they looked at the layouts we have and are looking at applying this to
Page 7 of 10
