The proposed OWTS will include installing an assembly of tanks, a treatment system,and an equal
<br /> distribution drainfield. The primary treatment will occur in an existing 1,300-gallon Scharfs primary
<br /> septic tank and a new 3,000-gallon filtration septic tank. The filtration septic tank will be equipped
<br /> with a biotube effluent filter that will prevent solids larger than 1/8-inch from entering the
<br /> recirculation tank. Water from an existing 200-gallon pump tank will be plumbed into the inlet of
<br /> the 3,000-gallon filtration septic tank. Screened effluent will then flow into a new 2,000-gallon
<br /> surge dosing tank equipped with an alternating duplex pump assembly and flow inducer tower that
<br /> will buffer peak flows to the recirculation tank.A 1,500-gallon recirculation tank will deliver
<br /> screened effluent to a secondary treatment system consisting of 3 AdvanTex®AX20 recirculating
<br /> textile filter treatment pods(AX20).The recirculation tank will be equipped with a high-head pump
<br /> housed in a flow inducer tower operating on timers to pump effluent to the 3 AX20 pods.A
<br /> recirculating splitter valve will direct treated effluent back to the recirculation tank or forward to the
<br /> 1,500-gallon drainfield dosing tank depending on the operating liquid level of the recirculation tank.
<br /> The 1,500-gallon drainfield dosing tank will be equipped with a duplex pump assembly and flow
<br /> inducer tower that will deliver treated effluent to a 7-way Hydrosplitter. Treated effluent from the
<br /> Hydrosplitter will flow proportionally to each of the 7 drainfield trenches described above.
<br /> 3.1 Sewage Treatment System Components
<br /> A detailed summary of the proposed components is as follows:
<br /> • Approximately 70 LF of 1-inch pressure effluent sewer piping between the existing 200-
<br /> gallon pump tank and the inlet 4-inch piping to the new filtration septic tank.
<br /> • One(1), 3,000-gallon pre-cast concrete filtration septic tank,with risers,fiberglass lids,
<br /> effluent filter with float switch, and related piping and appurtenances.
<br /> • One(1),2,000-gallon pre-cast concrete surge dosing tank with risers,fiberglass lids,
<br /> external splice boxes,control and alarm floats, a high head effluent pump, and related piping
<br /> and appurtenances.
<br /> • Approximately 15 LF of 1-inch pressure effluent sewer piping between the surge dosing
<br /> tank and the recirculation tank.
<br /> • One(1), 1,500-gallon pre-cast concrete recirculation tank with risers,fiberglass lid,
<br /> recirculating splitter valve, external splice boxes, control and alarm floats,flow inducer,
<br /> high head effluent pump, and related piping and appurtenances.
<br /> • One(1), 1,500-gallon pre-cast concrete drainfield dosing tank with risers,fiberglass lid,
<br /> external splice boxes, control and alarm floats,duplex flow inducer tower,high head
<br /> effluent pumps,and related piping and appurtenances.
<br /> • One(1)custom control and alarm panel with a dedicated power supply,conduits for
<br /> primary power,field wiring, and related appurtenances.
<br /> • Three(3)Advantex AX20 recirculating textile filter treatment pods with associated
<br /> underdrain piping,pressure distribution piping,textile treatment media,ventilation piping,
<br /> and related appurtenances.
<br /> • Approximately 40 LF of 4-inch gravity effluent sewer piping between tanks laid at a
<br /> minimum grade of 4 inches per 100 feet(S=0.33%).
