Mr. Jason Caswell ProNet File No. 47371
State Farm Insurance Company March 15, 2021
Page 8
Receptacles: We randomly tested voltages of receptacles throughout the shop house
area. All results were noted to be within an acceptable range of 118 to 121 volts-AC.
Pump House
General: We did not observe evidence of fire-related damage inside this structure.
Light Switch: We tested the light switch inside the structure did not observe any
abnormality with regard to operation of the light switch and associated light fixture
lamps.
ANALYSIS
General: In central Oregon, the Beachie Creek, Lionshead, and P-515 fires were all
ignited by lightning on August 16, 2020. These three fires gradually grew before
explosively spreading in early September during a heatwave, fanned by powerful east
winds._Early on September 8, the Beachie Creek and Lionshead Fires merged, and the
combined fire was named the Santiam Fire. The P-515 Fire merged into the Santiam
Fire a few days later. The Santiam Fire destroyed over 1,500 structures, including the
cities of Detroit and Gates, with Idanha, Mill City, and Lyons suffering varying amounts
of damage, becoming one of the most destructive wildfires in the recorded history of
Oregon.
Areas Inside the Main Residence
Non-Metallic Cables: Based on our inspection of the residence, we observed no
evidence of fire related damage involving interior room areas, electrical components,
and cables. As a precautionary measure, we recommend insulation resistance testing
be performed for the non-metallic power cables routed near or directly along the west
wall of the residence. This testing is expected to involve approximately 3-4 non-
metallic cables installed in this area. Test values and acceptance criteria shall be in
accordance with NETA standards. Refer to ANSI/NETA ATS-2009. Further
recommendations will be contingent on these results.
