<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Records Specialist <br />(Sheriff's Office) <br />Class Code: <br />134 <br />Bargaining Unit: 05 - Marion County Law <br />Enforcement Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$20.72 - $27.21 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br /> Non-Exempt06 Administrative SupportSheriff <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Processes and maintains various legal and related records, documents, and files for the Marion County <br />Jail requiring a high degree accuracy and independent judgment; performs related duties as assigned. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of an administrative supervisor, who sets goals, assigns work, and <br />reviews performance for accuracy and conformance to department standards. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED: <br />Supervision of employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Interprets, confirms, and inputs data from a variety of records such as court orders, teletypes, and <br />other documents into a number of different automated systems; analyzes information for accuracy <br />and statutory compliance; confers with originating agency to clarify data if necessary. <br />2.Interprets data contained in records to determine appropriate disposition of inmates; update and <br />maintain information in Lock and Track database; calculates release dates and credit for time <br />served for inmates including prison terms 12 months or less. <br />3.Retrieves and disseminates information contained in a variety of automated and manual systems; <br />searches records and prepares reports. Creates and processes administrative warrants and <br />tracks AWOL status. <br />4.Coordinates and tracks statewide movement of inmates in transit to and from the Marion County <br />Corrections Facility and while in other state or county facilities; tracks inmates on early release <br />programs; tracks inmates on Day Reporting, Electronic Monitoring, and Transitional Leave. <br />5.Establishes, compiles, maintains and updates state and department files, lists and reports; gathers <br />and tracks information and data from attorneys, County departments, law enforcement agencies <br />and computerized data systems including LEDS, NCIC, OJIN, ISIS, District Attorney database, <br />and Social Security Administration (SSA) systems. <br />6.Provides information and assistance to law enforcement and court personnel, inmates and the <br />public; coordinates daily calendars of cases to be processed; explains court/legal documents; <br />resolves questions and complaints. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
