Identifies and performs complex analysis providing policy options that advance the <br />county's goals and objectives. Functions as a member of the Chief Administrative Officer's management <br />team. Conducts policy analysis, provides coordination of activities and projects that have a countywide <br />scope and significant community involvement; may plan, organize and direct special task forces and <br />committees involving county departments and members of the community. Performs research, and <br />manages major projects and initiatives that are highly visible and of significant interest to the county <br />usually requiring input and coordination among several disciplines, elected officials, departments, <br />agencies, and jurisdictions. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the direction of the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, who assigns work, provides <br />technical and administrative direction, guidance and performance feedback. Also receives direction from <br />County Commissioners and the Chief Administrative Officer. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. However, acts as <br />a lead over other positions as assigned. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Represents Marion County, the Board of Commissioners, and the Chief Administrative Officer; has <br />authority to represent the county on various boards, committees, jurisdictions, and community <br />groups. Participates in community relations activities related to specific assignments and emerging <br />issues. <br />2.Serves as a member of the Chief Administrative Officer's Management Team; provides input, <br />advice and counsel to the Chief Administrative Officer regarding county policy and services.
