This is <br />an advanced level position. Duties may include any of the duties listed for the Payroll Specialist. In <br />addition this position has the primary responsibility for all duties in specialized accounting work of a <br />complex nature in central payroll within the Finance Department; maintains a large volume of payroll and <br />other fiscal records including both pretax and after tax contributions; and related to PERS/OPSRP; <br />coordinates and maintains all advanced operations data related to automated payroll system operations; <br />prepares regular and specialized reports; and performs other related duties as assigned. The Payroll <br />Analyst differs from the Payroll Specialist by level of experience and education as well as the duties are <br />of a more advanced nature. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Finance Accounting Manager, or designee, who assigns <br />work; reviews performance and measures results. Employee is expected to exercise a higher level of <br />independence combined with professional judgment related to established policy, procedures and <br />guidelines, as compared to the Payroll Specialist. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification; however, may act <br />as lead worker over Payroll Specialist in the absence of the Finance Accounting Manager. Employee is <br />expected to exercise a level of independence combined with professional judgment related to established <br />policy, procedures and guidelines. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Manages PERS/OPSRP reporting and recordkeeping system to ensure financial accountability <br />within Marion County. Performs control audit functions in accordance with PERS/OPSRP <br />administrative procedure guidelines. Maintains reconciliation spreadsheets, reporting of <br />demographic and wage records on a biweekly payroll cycle along with full statement payment and <br />reconciliation, responsible to dispute and request waiver of inaccurate invoicing by PERS when <br />applicable. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
