Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />3.Performs basic math calculations; posts records according to instructions; accepts, receipts and <br />records payments; balances and totals numerical data in simple accounts; compiles and maintains <br />data for record keeping purposes. <br />4.Operates standard office equipment (copier, fax, word processor) with minimal instruction; copies <br />documents; performs simple maintenance on office machinery as required. <br />5.Files to existing filing systems; distributes and processes mail, correspondence and materials; <br />maintains adequate office supplies, reordering when necessary. <br />6.Accesses computer for information; updates and retrieves information; and may complete less <br />complex data entry assignments. <br />7.Types routine material; completes forms and form letters. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, preferably supplemented by course work in <br />general office skills; OR <br />2.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Basic knowledge of: general office practices and procedures; English composition, spelling and grammar; <br />and modern office equipment, including computers, and their intended use. <br />Skill and ability to: type at an acceptable rate of speed; file; and perform math calculations; understand <br />and follow written and oral communications, carry out work assignments under supervision and with <br />general instructions; meet and assist clients, staff and the general public in a courteous manner; and <br />understand, convey and apply readily recognizable standards and procedures. <br />ADOPTED: <br />12/92 <br />REVISED: <br />11/96; 05/07; 12/19 (retitled) <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />01/14; 12/19 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br />
