On July 9, 2020, the <br /> court sent Plaintiffs a Notice of Scheduled Court Proceeding for a status conference via email, <br /> providing the telephone number and conference code. Plaintiffs did not appear on July 27, <br /> 2020, for the conference as scheduled. <br /> On July 27, 2020, the court sent a letter via U.S. mail to Plaintiffs' representative <br /> advising them that they failed to appear for the case management conference and directing <br /> them to "file a written response *** explaining"their failure to appear. The letter stated in <br /> bold: "Your response must be filed with the court no later than August 10, 2020." <br /> Additionally, the letter provided an alternate method of communication with the court as <br /> follows: "If you are unable to submit a written response at this time due to concerns <br /> surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, you may call the court at (503) 986-5650 to discuss <br /> other options." <br /> After Plaintiffs' failure to file a timely response, the court on August 17, 2020, issued <br /> its Order to Show Cause Whether Case Should Be Dismissed for Failure to Appear, providing <br /> Plaintiffs until August 31, 2020, to file and serve a response and explain whether they intend to <br /> continue with this appeal. The order advised Plaintiffs that this appeal may be dismissed if no <br /> ORDER OF DISMISSAL TC-MD 200280R 1 <br />
