<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Health Educator 3 <br />Class Code: <br />517 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$24.50 - $32.84 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br /> Non-Exempt 02 ProfessionalsHealth and Human Services <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Plans, organizes and implements health education programs for specific populations served by the <br />Health Department. This may include providing intervention services, technical support and other <br />professional services to the public and private medical communities. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the direction of a supervisor who assigns and reviews work for conformance to department <br />policy. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of employees is not a responsibility of positions within this class; however, exercises lead <br />responsibility over other staff in lower classifications with closely related duties. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Determines techniques, policies and procedures for the improvement of health education activities. <br />2.Organizes and consults with community agencies, committees, and groups to coordinate, advise <br />and advance health education program's purposes and practices. <br />3.Develops systems to assure quality client services and makes recommendations for changes to <br />improve service systems. <br />4.Monitors contracts with subcontractors to ensure quality client services. <br />5.Compiles and provides study and exhibit materials to organizations and committees for use by <br />members and the public; researches best practices for inclusion in health education programs. <br />6.Develops methods for coordinating educational activities among state, county, school and private <br />agencies. <br />7.Acts as county representative at local, state and regional meetings; serves as a liaison between <br />county and other agencies/providers. <br />8.Oversees service area activities and works with staff to problem solve issues. <br />9.Analyzes devices and procedures for public presentation of health problems and instructions; <br />participates in professional conferences and programs; prepares papers and presents talks; <br />assists in the development of major policies and objectives and in the evaluation and <br />standardization of procedures and practices recommended by professional organizations for <br />health education. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
