Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in library science; <br />AND <br />2.Two (2) years experience managing a library (preferably law library) including (1) year supervisory <br />experience; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Thorough knowledge of: principles and practices of general library administration; collection development, <br />reference techniques, cataloging; knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, bibliographic methods and <br />research. <br />Ability to: Supervise employees and coach for optimum performance; effectively communicate in both oral <br />and written form; prepare clear and concise reports; establish and maintain effective, professional and <br />collaborative working relationships with patrons, staff, and other agencies; evaluate and select legal <br />research materials; perform repetitive motions of hands/wrists; bend, stand for periods of time and reach <br />for materials; lift 15 pounds. <br />Possess skill in: coaching and motivating employees; preparing and maintaining a budget; operating <br />computers, CD-ROM, on-line information retrieval system, and other library tools. <br />ADOPTED: <br />07/80 <br />REVISED: <br />11/81; 05/83; 5/91; 02/96; 12/08; 08/09 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />12/08; 01/10; 09/17 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br />
