Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; AND <br />2.A minimum of three (3) years of responsible experience in the field of accounting, with extensive <br />experience and expertise in managerial accounting; AND <br />3.One (1) year of supervisory experience (may be concurrent with #2 above); OR <br />4.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />PREFERENCES <br />Preference may be given to candidates with specific department or program experience related to <br />> <br />the position. <br />Public Works experience in road construction practices and fleet maintenance activities, including <br />> <br />setting rental rates for equipment is preferred. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Working knowledge of: activity/task-based accounting; general accounting functions (A/P, A/R, payroll, <br />general ledger); large accounting systems and procedures such as Oracle or SAP; principles, methods, <br />and techniques of effective administration, including personnel utilization and administration, budget <br />accounting, office management, use of standard office equipment, and MS Office products. <br />Skill and ability to: write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; build and manipulate <br />spreadsheet programs such as Excel; work with statistical data and to apply mathematical concepts to <br />practical solutions; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form; <br />establish and maintain fiscal records; analyze data and draw logical conclusions; analyze situations <br />accurately and adopt an effective course of action; communicate complex financial information effectively <br />both orally and in writing; make independent and responsible judgment in decision making; establish and <br />maintain cooperative working relationships with agency personnel, county officials, and the general <br />public. <br />ADOPTED: <br />11/99 <br />REVISED: <br />11/00; 04/02; 07/08; 06/12 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />06/16 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br />
