Develops <br />procedures for the implementation of new laws; coordinates training. <br />7.Performs general overall management of the volunteer component of the program, including <br />development of training curricula; conducts training; identifies priorities and develops plans; assists <br />in screening and placement of volunteers. <br />8.Conducts public speaking presentations for the general community and training for allied <br />professionals. <br />9.Provides services to victims of violent crimes,and provides back up and support to the 24 hour <br />response team for homicide and suspicious death cases. <br />10.Conducts research and stays abreast of developments and national trends in the area of victim <br />services delivery and the criminal justice system. Provides updates and arranges for training for <br />District Attorney staff, Victim Assistance staff, and program volunteers. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, social science, business, social work or <br />related field; AND <br />2.Three (3) years experience in a Victim Assistance program or other social service agency; AND <br />3.One (1) year supervisory experience (may be concurrent with the above); OR <br />4.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Considerable knowledge of: strategic planning, program development, personnel management, grants <br />and budgets; the adult criminal justice system and juvenile justice system; victimology, stress and crisis, <br />and intervention techniques; community resources. <br />Ability and skill to: research and analyze data; prepare clear and concise reports; preparing and <br />maintaining a budget; effectively communicate in both oral and written form; speak publicly to a variety of <br />audiences; respond effectively in crisis situations with a prejudice and judgement-free attitude; work with <br />individuals and agencies with a variety of backgrounds and purposes; work directly with adult and child <br />victims of violent crimes; make appropriate referrals; coach employees for optimum <br />performance; develop, establish, and maintain effective and professional working relationships with <br />employees, volunteers, other agencies, and the public; operate a computer; operate a motor vehicle. <br />ADOPTED: <br />11/83 <br />REVISED: <br />08/85; 05/88; 06/88; 08/91; 01/97; 07/03; 11/08 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />04/16 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br />
