From: RICHARD HAYDEN
~ To: GWM2.M-EDISON.RCURTIS
Date: 1/15/99 11:35am
Subject: Bid Form
Randy our staff has examined the form on the civil elements sent to us
as prepared by WestTec. This form provides for a series of lump sum
items without quantities our unit cost, however the level of detail is
what we normally require.
I understand your team is working on the other areas. We suggest that
the bid form be grouped in the following areas consistent with the
Agency/City Council original approvals in October and formatted in the
Agreement as follows:
A. Streetscape
Streetscape improvements are the public improvements to be
constructed and located within the public right of way of the four
block faces abutting the Courthouse Square development site. Elements
of the streetscape include an architecturally designed sidewalk
including intersection corner bulbs, curbs, gutters, landscape, street
furniture, pedestrian lighting and street lighting.
B• Weather Protection.
~ Weather protection improvements are overhead canopy,
marque, or arcade type structures attached to the Courthouse Square
building facade extending over the right of way of way or constructed
to be free standing adjacent the right of way. The designed purpose
of weather protection improvements is to provide pedestrians an
overhead protection from the elements of the weather.
C. Traffic Signals.
Traffic signals requiring modification or construction to
facilitate the interfacing of bus and auto traffic at each of the four
intersections adjacent the Project shall include poles, mast arms,
signal heads, controller devices, and required electrical service.
D. On-Street Transit Facility.
The existing transit transfer facility located within the
High Street right of way shall be removed upon completion of the
transit facility portion of the Project. Elements included in the
removal of the existing transfer facility include demolition/salvage
of improvements, street surface restoration, and reinstatement of
on-street parking
E. Public Utilities
Utility improvements include the abandonment of existing
public utilities within vacated alley right of way and reconstruction
~ of public utilities consisting of water, storm sewer, and sanitary
