Maintenance Crew Courthouse Square Recommendations with Administrative <br />Recommendations added. <br />July 15, 1998 <br />Specific Recommendations: <br />Door hardware: Schlage levers, Von Duprin crash bars and closures <br />Locks: Medico <br />Plumbing: Chicago faucets, American Standard fixtures, Sloan flush valves, [wall <br />mounted infrared toilet and urinal flush activators, infrared faucet controls...minimally for <br />disabled fixtures, hopefully for allJ <br />Mechanical: Dunn-Bush steam traps, Powers pneumatic controllers, Kreuter <br />Manufacturing Company's KMD 5500 Series DDC control system (to be monitored in a <br />Facilities Management Office in the Courthouse), Bell&Gosset circulating pumps. <br />Electrical: Square D panel, breakers, and disconnect switches; GE transformers; Allen- <br />~ Bradley or Square D motor controls; Hubbell spec grade receptacles and lighting <br />switches; Pyrotronics MXL Fire Alarm system; Leviton commercial spec grade <br />occupancy sensors. <br />Office doors should be varnish grade birch with natural semi-gloss lacquer finish. <br />Carpet should be 28 oz, direct glue down, 100% nylon, 20 Ib tuft bind, solution dyed. <br />Restroom floors should be sheet vinyl (Armstrong Corlon .085 ga or equivalent) with <br />welded seams or large (12x12) ceramic tile with sealed grout. Break rooms should be <br />12x12 VCT. <br />General recommendations: <br />(1) Use central plant for heating and cooling. Chilled water cooling, steam heat, high <br />pressure fans, and VAV boxes. <br />(2) Use a hybrid heating/cooling control system: electronic DDC master controlling <br />pneumatic actuators and pneumatic stats. <br />(3) Use 277/480V main power, distribute power through the building with 480V bus <br />ducts which will be tapped at each floor, install step-down transformer at each floor for <br />120/208V power, use 277V electronic ballasted T-8 fluorescents for general lighting, <br />~ keep accent lighting to minimum. <br />
