I
AGENDA:
Organizational Chart
Foundation De-Watering/Environmental Concerns
Status of Plans/Design Assumptions/Relationship between Design Teams
Municipal
Post Tension vs. Conventional Slab
Budget
ORGANIZATIONAL CHART (ATTACHMENT A):
Century West has 3 different areas on the organizational chart, depending on the phase of th~ project.
Civil works directly with Arbuckle Costic. Environmental and Demolition contract with the olwner.
Geotech and De-watering are subcontracted to GRI and should come under Melvin Marks There should be
no connection between Century West Geotech & Arbuckle Costic. This should be direct witt~ the owner
as it was drafted. CSI was the developer. When we get to the point where we select other sulbcontractors
we will add them under Century West.
~ Salem Area Transit & Marion County are co-owners. There may be more private co-owners ~s the project
progresses. '
Companies in the shaded areas are not on board yet. The Commissioning Agent will be take ~' over by Dan
Petrisuch. Arbuckle Costic made the recommendation to get the commissioning agent on b ard to begin
review. It was mentioned that Byron C•~urts can do that type of thing for now if necessary. I, was decided
to postpone this until we decide whether we need them or not. '
Acoustical is necessary to bring on board ASAP. Dan has used Ultramat Acoustical previou~ly and would
recommend getting a proposal from them. Many acoustical engineers can deal with sound vv~ithin spaces
but few deal with external noise. They had this case at the KPTV bldg which was built next t~ railroad
spur and freeway. Dan found that having them talk with the structural engineers and architec~s early in the
project impacted costs considerably by avoiding corrections later. Ron will have Byron talk Vvrth Ultramat
Acoustical and will get proposal from them then prepare a budget number and set up a meetir~g. Leonard
is not concerned that any work done to date will be problematia He believes the bldg mass ~s designed to
control vibrations. Questions of concern have been around separating the bus mall from oth~r areas to
decrease noise. It cannot be suspended off the columns that are used for office space. But it ~an be
isolated while using the same columns, which has been done successfully in the past. It tak~s time and
effort to do this but is still cheaper than making two separate structures. If the acoustical eng~ineer has other
suggestions, we will entertain them. Landscaping is covered under the architect's fees but ac~oustical will
be extra. We will negotiate whether acoustical is covered in the street scape budget. ,
~ CH2 6/26 Minutes
Page 1
