FAX NO: (503) 224-)~.1.~5
FROM: Mike Hansen RE: Chevron Lot--Letter
of March 5, 1997
TOTAL NUMBER OF PAGES (including this sheet): four
IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE ALL PAGES, PLEASE CALL US AT (503) 588-5220
Tom,
We enjoyed meeting Suzanne Lacampagne. I hope she or another
member of your staff has had an opportunity to review the DEQ
filings on the Chevron lot. They may come in handy. We received
a letter from Dana R. Thurman on March 5, 1997. A copy is
attached. This letter may signal a departure in the position of
Chevron.
I ask whether you would be able to take on the following addi-
tional assignment for Marion County:
1. Consult with Kathleen Thorpe of Century West concerning
prior negotiations and contacts with Chevron.
2. Review the purchase agreement between Marion County and
Chevron. Suzanne has a copy.
3. Negotiate a deal with Chevron under paragraph 11(E) of the
agreement that lets Marion County take over the environmental
remediation of the property. Subject to your review and advice,
of course.
