Salem Area Mass Transit District/Marion County IFB 00-03 12 <br />TAB Services <br />2) SEQUENCING WITH COMMISSIONING AGENT <br />• A prebalancing meeting shall be conducted four weeks prior to start of balancing <br />between commissioning agent, control contractor and balancing firm. <br />• Begin testing, adjusting and balancing of systems after Prefunctional Check/Start-up <br />Plans are certified by the Commissioning Agent. <br />• Balancing Contractor shall perform work under this section within four (4) weeks from <br />certification of the first Prefunctional Check/Start-up Plan or a minimum of two (2) <br />weeks from the certification of any single Prefunctional Check/Start-up Plan. If, at <br />any time, a condition is discovered which prevents continuation of testing, adjusting <br />and balancing work for a given system, the balancing contractor will promptly notify <br />the Commissioning Agent, and two (2) week allowance shall be halted until written <br />direction is received from the Architect that the condition is corrected. If complete <br />rebalancing is required, the full three (3) week allowance shall be provided. <br />PRODUCTS <br />2) PATCHING MATERIALS <br />• Ductwork and Housings: Use plastic plugs with retainers to patch drilled holes. <br />2) INSTRUMENTS <br />Utilize test instruments and equipment as recommended in the following: <br />• NEBB's Procedural Standards for Testing, Adjusting and Balancing of Environmental <br />Systems. <br />• AABC's Manual NM-1, "AABC National Standards." <br />EXECUTION <br />2) VERIFICATION OF CONDITIONS <br />Do not proceed with testing, adjusting and balancing work until work has been completed <br />and is operable. Do not proceed until work scheduled for testing, adjusting and balancing <br />is clean and free from debris, dirt and discarded building materials. <br />Verify the following: <br />• Equipment is operable and in a safe and normal condition. <br />• Temperature control systems are installed complete and operable. <br />• Final filters are clean and in place. <br />• Duct systems are clean of debris. <br />• Correct fan rotation. <br />
