Will the county help in providing traffic control or wave parking fees for any phase for the <br />duration of this project? <br />Because Marion County is a government body there are no uermit fees. However, <br />construction/maintenance parking permits, lane closure pernuts, and sidewalk closure permits are <br />required and can be obtained at Sa1em City Hall, Room 325. These permits must be specific as to <br />time and date, required signage, and other items as required. Refer to the Courthouse Square <br />Project when you apply, indicate this is a Marion County project and no fees are required. <br />7. Can equipment remain in the street or partially block the street for speci~c tasks during the <br />project? <br />The answer is yes, if your permit authorizes use of the streets in this manner. <br />8. Are there any restrictions for traffic control when bringing in heavy equipment? Can the <br />contractor apply for street lane closure for specific tasks? How should they inquire? <br />Yes, see item #6 regazding how to obtain permits. <br />9. Will Browns Island accept all demolition or asbestos waste and at what cost & schedule? <br />Browns Island Demolition Landfill <br />2895 Fazagate St. S <br />Salem, Oregon <br />Phone Number: (503) 588-5169 <br />Browns Island Demolition Landfill summer hours are 8:00 AM unti14:30 PM Monday through <br />Saturday. These hours will be in effect during abatement and demolition. For this project, if <br />volume is sufficient, Sunday and after hour disposal can be arranged. <br />Browns Island Demolition Landfill can accept only demolition material, including concrete and <br />asbestos waste, consistent with Marion County's DEQ pernut for disposal. The DEQ pernut limits <br />waste to inert materials with up to 10% contamination of wood and metal. The price is $5.00 per <br />cubic yazd for disposal of all materials including asbestos. Asbestos needs to be properly bagged <br />and hand unloaded. <br />The County reserves the right to direct the flow of demolition and asbestos waste. If the county <br />elects to direct the waste to be disposed, the intention is to reduce the price of disposal. <br />The contractor will list a line item for a per ton or per cubic yazd cost for hauling and disposal. <br />The contractor will also show their preferred disposal site on the demolition proposal form in the <br />specification packet. <br />The Contractor must also list a per ton and per cubic yazd price for hauling such waste to the <br />Courthouse Square Project <br />Amendment #1 <br />Mazch 24, 1997 2 <br />
