A fire safety plan shall be prepared, prior to any demolition, detailing all fire safety measures <br />which will be addressed during the demolition. The plan shall be provided to the Owner or <br />Owner's Representative for review and comment. A weekly status report shall also be provided <br />during the entire demolition detailing the status of each measure. <br />H. All temporary heating equipment shall be installed in accordance with requirements of applicable <br />NFPA Standards and manufacturers' instructions. <br />I. All flammable liquids shall be handled, stored and used in accordance with NFPA Standard No. <br />30 - 1993. <br />J. Temporary electrical wiring and equipment used for construction: Installed and used in accordance <br />with NFPA Standard No. 70 - 1996. <br />K. Maintain fire department and emergency service vehicle access to site at all times. Clear building <br />demolition areas of unnecessary obstructions so that all portions are accessible for fire department <br />apparatus and permit emergency egress of demolition and other personnel. <br />L. All necessary precautions shall be taken by the contractor to prevent accidental activation of all <br />existing smoke detectors by minimizing the amount of dust generated in the vicinity of any smoke <br />detectors until deactivated. <br />M. All demolition activities not already covered above shall be in accordance with the latest edition of <br />NFPA No. 241- 1993 Standard for Safeguarding Construction, Alteration, and Demolition <br />Operations, in effect at time of contract award. <br />1. Penetrations through fire rated bamers shall be sealed immediately with a fire stop barrier. <br />N. The contractor shall assign an authorized supervisory representative to issued hot work permits. <br />Before any cutting or welding is conducted, the contractor or sub-contractors shall obtain <br />permission from the contractor's authorized representative by the issuance of this permit. All hot <br />work shall be conducted safely in accordance with National Fire Protection Association Standard <br />No. S1B, Fire Prevention in the Use and Cutting and Welding Process, 1994 edition. The <br />attached sample permit format or a similar one shall be used. <br />
