The changes affect most
public agencies which award contracts for public works projects and the contractors working on those projects. A
synopsis of these changes is given below.
" The threshold for PWR projects is increased from 510, 000 to 525,000.
• Contractors receiving public works contracts must pay a fee equal to one-tenth of one percent of
the total contract price of the project.
" All contracts and contract specifications must contain a provision stating that the fee shall be paid
to the Bureau.
" Contractors are no longer required to send copies of the certified payroll statements to the Bureau.
" Public contracting agencies may not divide projects to avoid compliance with the PWR law.
" Civil penalties of up to S5,000 may now be assessed for any violation of the PWR law or the
administrative rules.
FOR MORE INFORMATION CONCERNING THESE CHANGES, CALL THE PREVAILING WAGE RATE
COORDINATOR AT (503) 731-4074, EXT. 250.
WE HAVE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE ALL RATE CHANGES NOTICEABLE BY
PRINTING THEM IN BOLD TYPE.
JANUARY 1, 1997 PA(iE 6
