When risers are closed, <br />all treads less than 10 inches shall have a uniform nosing <br />betweem 3/4 inches and 1 1/4 inches. The greatest riser <br />height/tread depth shall not exced th smallest by more than <br />3/8 inch. [Sec. 314.1: 314.2; 314.2,1: 314.3] <br />ALL EXTERIOR STAIRS shall be provided with a minimum of 60 <br />watts of incandescent light or other artificial light source <br />rated at a minimum of 850 lumens. The illumination oF <br />exterior stairs shall be located in the immediate vicinity <br />of the landing at the top of the stairs of required exits, <br />and shall be controlled from inside the dwelling unit unless <br />continuously illuminated or automatically activated. <br />Exception: An artificial light source is not required at <br />the top and bottom of stairs provided the artificial light <br />source is located directly over each stair section. <br />[Section 303.4] <br />ALL INTERIOR STAIRS shall be provided with a minimum of 60 <br /> <br /> <br />
