NE. Aurora~ Site//99-06082

Dear Mr. Ewing:

t arawr/ting to ask i~poss/bly take anothert~ok a;, ilfis alteration.-/ ....
received your letter of Dec. 2, where you ask us to obtain a permanent easement for the
drainfield area~ This puts us in an impossible situation where we are a third party that is
just trying to gain access to the airport so we can develop some land for hangars, but the
only place we cam put a taxiway is along this drainfield. Neither Columbia Aviation
Association who has the drainfield, or Oregon Department of Aeronautics who owns the
land it is located on see any need to negotiate an easement when they already have an
arrangement that has been approved by Marion County.

The State has already blocked out an area that we can use to increase the area.
There is also land adjacent to the state land on the south end owned by Columbia
Aviation Association that can be used, but it is going to be a lot more doable if we can
stay with the lease arrangement that has already been approved by Marion County.

You mentioned that this system was sized for 1075 gallons a day sewage flow. I
did a study, which you have, that showed only about that much a week. I realize that this
flow all occurs mostly on one day, but maybe we can meter the flow to the drainfield
over several days. Also in your letter you said that the sand filter replacement area
calculated to 360 feet. Is that 360 square feet? The present sand filter replacemem area
.... is_2100squarefe~ Please give me so~dance_and [will be glad ~9~pr_epare another _
proposal.

Thank you again for your time in going over this.
