Minimum width from the handrail down is 32 inches with one handrail, 28 inches with two. The minimum required stair tread width is 9 inches, The maximum stair rise is 8 inches, When risers are closed, all treads less than 10 inches shall have a uniform nosing betweem 3/4 inches and I 1/4 inches, The greatest riser height/tread depth shall not exced th smallest by more than 2/8 inch.
