JONES ON 10/01/98, 3. Approval of submitted plans is not an approval of omissions or oversights by this office or of noncompliance with any applicable regulations of local government. 4. ACCEPTABILITY, This plan review covers the addition to and/ or alteration of an existing structure. This review is not intended to prohibit the building inspector from requesting an evaluation of the acceptability of existing structural members that may appear to be unsafe. Existing construction not specifically detailed in the submitted plans and struc- tural calculations is beyond the scope of this review, 5. DESIGNER RESPONSIBILITY. The plans submitted do not clearly show all the required framing details. It is the designer's responsibility to size all structural members and fasteners for the appropriate loads and have them shown on the plans, [Sec. 112.1] 6, POST & BEAM CONNECTION, See attached detail of the Oregon Alternate Method Ruling No, 94-18. 7, DECK JOIST. The plans submitted not specify the deck joist size. Minimum size of joist would be Doug-Fir. No. 2. 2x4 at 16 inches on center. (This base on a 3 foot span.) 8. SAFETY GLAZING / AT DOOR. The following shall be considered specific hazardous locations for the purposes of glazing: Glazing, in an individual fixed or operable panel adjacent to a door where the nearest vertical edge is within a 24 inch arc of the door in a closed position and whose bottom edge is less than 60 inches above the floor or walking surface, Exception: Safety glazing is not required when there is an intervening wall or other permanent barrier between the door and the glazing, 9, SAFETY GLAZING / TUBS. The following shall be considered specific hazardous locations for the purposes of glazing. Glazing in doors and enclosures for hot tubs, whirlpools saunas, steam rooms, bathtubs, showers: glazing in any part of a building wall enclosing these compartments where the bottom edge of the glazing is less than 60 inches above the drain outlet. lO. EVERY SLEEPING ROOM shall have at least one openable window or exterior door approved for emergency egress or rescue, The window sill height shall not be more than 44 inches above the floor, The minimum net clear opening is 5.7 square feet. The minimum net clear opening height shall be 22 inches, The minimum net clear opening width shall be 20 inches. Exception: Grade floor windows may have a minimum net clear opening of 5 sguare feet.
