GROUNDING ELECTRODES. When concrete reinforcing bars are installed in concrete footings, the following requirements shall be met to provide for a grounding electrode system: 1, Uncoated No. 4 reinforcing bar installed not less 20 feet in length encased with a minimum of 2 inches of concrete, 2. An uncoated No. 4 reinforcing bar stubbed up at least 12 inches above the floor plate line and tightly attached to the reinforcing bar located in the footing, The spliced lap of the staubbed up bar to the footing shall be a minimum of 12 inches. (See Section 4108.1.2) [Sec. 403,4] 5. CUT SLOPES. Slopes for permanent fills and cut slopes for permanent excavasions shall not be steeper than two units norizontal to one unit vertical. A steeper cut slope may be extablished only after presentation of a soil investigation report acceptable to the Building Official. [Sec. 401.5] 6. LOT DPJkINAGE. Lots shall be provided with adequate drainage and shall be graded so as to drain surface water away from foundation walls. The grade away from foundation walls shall fall a minimum of 6 inches within the first 10 feet, Where lot lines, walls or other physical barriers prohibit 6 inches of fall within 10 feet, drains or other approved means shall be provided to ensure positive drainage. [Sec. 401.3] 7. ENG. This structure uses an Engineered Design to meet the lateral wall bracing requirements of the code. Insure that all detailed construction requirements shown on the plans are followed. 8. EVERY SLEEPING ROOM shall have at least one openable window or exterior door approved for emergency egress or rescue. The window sill height shall not be mere than ~ inches above the floor. The minimum net clear opening is 5.7 square feet. The minimum net clear opening height shall be 22 inches. The minimum net clear opening width shall be 20 inches. Exception: Grade floor windows may have a minimum net clear opening of 5 square feet. [Sec. 210.2. 210.2.1] 9. STAIRWAYS shall not be less than 36 inches in clear width at all points between the handrail height and the required minimum headroom of 6 feet 8 inches. Minimum width from the handrail down is 22 inches with one handrail. 28 inches with two.
