(See Section 8-2) <br /> c) Complete and sign the appropriate Contractor's Material <br /> and Test Certificate(s) [see Figures 8-1(a) and 8-1(b)], <br />SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TESTS, (NFPA 12 Sec 8-2.4) <br />Waterflow detecting devices including the associated alarm <br />circuits shall be flow tested through the inspector's test <br />connection and shall result in an audible alarm on the <br />premises within 5 minutes after such flow begins and until <br />such flow stops, <br />The main drain valve shall be opened and remain open until <br />the system pressure stabilizes. The static and residual <br />pressures shall be recorded on the contractor's test <br />certificate. <br />INSTRUCTIONS, (NFPA 13 Sec 8-4) <br />The installing contractor shall provide the owner with: <br /> a) All literature and instructions provided by the manu- <br /> facturer describing proper operation and maintenance of <br /> any equipment and devices installed. <br />b) Publication titled NFPA 25, Standard for the Inspection, <br /> Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection <br /> Systems. <br /> HYDRAULIC DESIGN INFORMATION SIGN. (NFPA 13 Sec 8-5) <br /> The installing contractor shall identify a hydraulically <br /> designed sprinkler system with a permanently marked weather- <br /> proof metal or rigid plastic sign secured with corrosion- <br /> resistant wire, chain, or other approved means. Such signs <br /> shall be placed at the alarm valve supplying the corre- <br /> sponding hydraulically designed area, <br /> HYDRAULIC DESIGN INFORMATION SIGN, cont'd. <br />The sign shall include the following information: <br /> a) Location of the design area or areas. <br /> b) Discharge densities over the design area or areas, <br /> c) Required flow and residual pressure demand at the base <br /> of riser. <br /> d) Occupancy classification or commodity classification and <br /> maximum permitted storage height and configuration. <br /> e) Hose stream demand included in addition to the sprinkler <br /> demand. <br />SYSTEM MAINTENANCE.
