This review is not intended to prohibit the building <br /> inspector from requesting an evaluation of the <br /> acceptability of existlng structural members that may <br /> appear to be unsafe. Existing construction not <br /> specifically detailed in the plans and structural <br /> calculations is beyond the scope of this review. <br /> 6, STAIRWAY WIDTH. (OSSC Sec 1006.2) <br /> Stairways serving an occupant load of 49 or less shall not <br /> be less than 36 inches in width. <br /> Handrails may project into the required width a distance of <br /> 3-1/2 inches from each side of a stairway, Stringers and <br /> other projections such as trim and similar decorative featur <br /> es may project into the required width 1-1/2 inches on each <br /> side, <br /> 7. FLOOR DESIGN. (OSSC Sec 1604) <br /> Floors shall be designed for the unit loads set forth in <br /> TABLE 16-A. These loads shall be taken as the minimum live <br /> leads in pounds per square foot of horizontal projection to <br /> be used in the design of buildings for the occupancies <br /> listed, and loads at least equal shall be assumed for uses <br /> not listed in this section but which create or accommodate <br /> s~milar loadings. <br /> 8. LIVE LOADS POSTED. (OSSC Sec 1604.5) <br /> The live loads for which each floor or part thereof of a <br /> commercial or industrial building is or has been designed <br /> shall have such designed live loads conspicuously posted by <br /> the owner in that part of each story in which they apply. <br /> using durable metal signs, and it shall be unlawful to <br /> remove or deface such notices. The occupant of the building <br /> shall be responsible for keeping the actual load below the <br /> allowable limits, <br />9. It is the designer's responsibility to <br /> size all structural members and fasteners for the <br /> ~pro~riate loads and have them shown on the plans. <br /> e plans submitted have the following deficiencies: <br /> 1.
