16, EVERY SLEEPING ROOM shall have at least one operable window approved for emergency egress or rescue. The window sill height shall not be mors than 44 inches above the floor. The minimum net clear opening is 5.7 square feet. The minimum net clear opening height shall be 22 inches. The minimum net clear opening width shall be 20 inches. Exception: Grade floor windows may have a minimum net clear opening of 5 square feet. [Sec. 310.2, 310.2.1] 17. ENCLOSED ACCESSIBLE SPACE under stairs shall have walls and soffits protected on the enclosed side with 1/2 inch gypsum board. [Sec. 310.3] 18. HANDRAILS having a minimum and maximum height of 30 inches and 38 inches, respectively, shall be provided on at least one side of stai~vays of mora than three risers. All required handrails shall be continuous the full length of the stairs. Ends shall be returned or shall terminate in newel posts or safety terminals. [Table 301.4] 19. iNSTALLATION OF HEATING and cooling appliances shall conform to the conditions of their listing and label and the manufacturer's installation instructions. The manufacturer's operating instructions shall remain attached to the appl/anco. Have the installation instructions available for the building inspector at the time of inspection. [Sec. 1307.1] 20.
