?. WATERPROOFING REQUIRED. Foundation walls enclosing habitable or storage space <br />shall be waterproofed. [Sec. 406.2] <br /> <br />8. THE STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS for decks, balconies, porches or similar structures shall be <br />pressure-treated wood to protect against decay. [Sec. 322.1 .] <br /> <br />9. GROUND CLEARANCE. Wood siding, sheathing and wall framing on the extedor of a <br />building having a clearance of less than 6" to the ground shall be pressure treated or decay <br />resistant heartwood of redwood, black locust, or cedar. [Sec. 322.1(5)] <br /> <br />10. PROVIDE DRAFTSTOPPING in the floor/ceiling assembly so that the area of the concealed <br />space does not exceed 1000 square feet. Divide the concealed space into approximately equal <br />areas. Install parallel to the floor framing unless otherwise approved. Provide draffstopping <br />when: 1)Ceiling is suspended below the floor framing. 2)Floor framing is tress-type open-web or <br />perforated members. 3)The assembly is enclosed by a floor membrane above and a ceiling <br />membrane below. [Sec. 502.11,502.11.1] <br /> <br />Il. ENG. ATTACHED. This structure uses an Engineered Design to meet the lateral wall <br />bracing requirements of the code. Insure that all detailed construction requirements shown on <br />the plans and on the attached engineering sheets ara followed. <br /> <br />],?,, HIP AND VALLEY RAFTERS shall be supported at the ridge by a brace to a bearing <br />partition or be designed to carry and distribute the specific load at that point. [Sec. 802.3] <br /> <br />13. ATTIC VENTS. Provide screened attic vents with a net free area of 1/150 of the attic area. <br />(or 1/300 if between 50 and 80% of required area is ventilators in the upper portion of the attic <br />and located at least 3 feet above eave or cornice vents. As an alternative, install a 4 mil vapor <br />barrier on the warm side of the ceiling. [Sec. 806.2]. <br /> <br />SAFETY GLAZING/POOL. The following shall be considered a specific hazardous location <br /> for the purposes of glazing. <br /> Glazing in walls and fences used as the barrier for indoor and outdoor swimming <br /> pools and spas when all the following conditions are present: <br /> 1. The bottom edge of the glazing is less than 60 inches above the pool side of <br /> the glazing. <br /> 2. The glazing is within 60 inches of a swimming pool or spa deck area. [Sec. <br /> 308 <br /> <br />]5. THE GARAGE shall be separated from the dwelling and its attic area by means of 1/2-inch <br /> gypsum board applied to the garage side of the wall. Where the separation is a <br /> floor-coiling assembly, the structure supporting the separation shall be protected <br /> by 1/2-inch gypsum board or equivalent. The door between the garage and <br /> residence shall be equipped with solid wood doors not less than 1 3/8 inches in <br /> thickness or 20-minute fire rated, or equivalent. <br /> [Sec. 309.1,309.2] <br /> <br /> <br />
