The subject property is located in the horizontal surface of <br />the Aurora Airport overlay zone. This surface is a horizon- <br />tal plane which surrounds the airport 150 feet above the <br />airport elevation. The elevation of the horizontal surface <br />is 345 feet above mean sea level (MSL). The ground elevation <br />at the site is approximately 190 feet MSL. A 65 foot high <br />sign at this location does not penetrate the horizontal <br />surface and is allowed in the overlay zone. <br /> <br />VI. Order <br /> <br /> It is hereby found that applicant has met the burden of <br />proving the applicable standards and criteria for approval of a <br />variance to allow a 65 foot high sign where a 45 foot high sign is <br />allowed in the ID zone have been met. Therefore, the application <br />for variance is GRANTED, subject to the conditions set forth <br />below. The conditions are necessary for the public health, safety <br />and welfare. <br /> <br />The sign shall be the only sign on the property designed <br />to be read from the freeway and shall be limited to the <br />size approved by this decision. <br /> <br />Applicant shall obtain the necessary permits from the <br />Marion County Building Inspection Division. <br /> <br />Prior to obtaining building permits, applicant shall <br />submit a sign plan for review and approval by the Marion <br />County Department of Public Works. <br /> <br />This variance shall be valid only if exercised within <br />one year of the effective date. A one year extension <br />may be granted by the Planning Division if the request <br />is received prior to the expiration date of this order. <br /> <br />Se <br /> <br />Failure to comply with the above conditions may result <br />in this approval being voided. <br /> <br />VII. Other Permits <br /> <br /> The applicant herein is advised that the use of the property <br />proposed in this application may require additional permits from <br />other local, state or federal agencies. The Marion County land <br />use review and approval process does not take the place of, or <br />relieve the applicant of responsibility for, acquiring such other <br />permits, or satisfy any restrictions or conditions thereon.
