7. ALL INTERIOR STAIRS shall be provided with a minimum of 60 watts of incandescent light or <br />other artificial light source rated at a minimum of 850 lumens. Interior stairs of six steps or more <br />shall have the required lighting located in the immediate vicinity of the top and bottom of the <br />stairs, and the required lighting shall be controlled from the top and bottom of each stair without <br />traversing any step of the stair. Exception: An artificial light source is not required at the top and <br />bottom of stairs provided the artificial light source is located directly over each stair section. <br />[Sec. 303.4] <br /> <br />8. FIRESTOPPING shall be provided in the following locations: <br /> 1) In concealed spaces of stud walls, including furred spaces not to exceed 10 feet <br /> horizontally, and at the ceiling and floor level. <br /> 2) At all interconnections between concealed vertical and horizontal spaces such as <br /> occur at soft[ts, drop or cove ceilings, etc. <br /> 3) In concealed spaces between stair stringers at the top and bottom of the run and wall <br /> cavities in line with the stringers; <br /> 4) At openings around vents, pipes, ducts, chimneys and fireplaces at ceiling and floor <br />level, with noncombustible materials. [Sec. 602.7] <br /> <br />9. HEATING AND COOLING appliances Ioceted in a garage shall be protected from impact by <br />automobiles. [Sec. 1307.3] <br /> <br />10. DECORATIVE GAS APPLIANCES shall be listed and installed in accordance with their <br />listing and the manufacturer's installation instructions. [Sec. 2205] <br /> <br />Robert L.
