Lots shall'be provided with adequate drainage and shall be <br />graded so as to drain surface water away from foundation walls. The grade away from <br />foundation walls shall fall a minimum of 6 in. within the first 10 ff. Where lot lines, walls or other <br />physical barriers prohibit 6" of fall within 10 feet, drains or other approved means shall be <br />provided to ensure positive drainage. [Sec, 401,3] <br /> <br />2. CONCRETE SPECIFICATIONS. Basement walls and foundations not exposed to the <br />weather, basement slabs and interior slabs on grade, except garage floor and steps exposed to <br />the weather shall have a minimum compressive strength of 2500 psi. Basement wails, foundation <br />walls, exterior wails, and other vertical concrete work exposed to the weather, porches, carport <br />slabs, and steps exposed to the weather, and garage floor slabs shall have a minimum specified <br />compressive strength of 3000. Concrete shall be air entrained. Total air content (percent by <br />volume of concrete) shall not be less than 5 percent or more than 7 percent. [Sec. 402.2, Table <br />402.2] <br /> <br />3. REMOVAL OF DEBRIS. The under floor grade shall be cleaned of all vegetation and organic <br />materials and construction debris. [Sec. 409.3] <br /> <br />4. MASONRY TIES. Masonry veneer shall be attached to the supporting wall with corrosion- <br />resistant metal ties. Veneer ties, if strand wire, shall not be less in thickness than No. 9 U.S. <br />gauge wire and shall have a hook embedded in the mortar joint, or if sheet metal, not Jess than <br />Ne. 22 U. S. gauge by 7/8-inch corrugated. Each tie shall be spaced not more than 24 inches on <br />canter horizontally and shall support not more than 2 square feet of wall area. [Sac. 703.7.2, <br />703.7.2.1] <br /> <br />5. BP,ABP,PF. This structure uses a combination of Brace Wall Panels, (BP) Alternate Braced <br />Wall Panels, (ABP) and a Portal Frame to meet the code requirements for lateral wall bracing. <br />Insure that all BP's and ABP's and Portal Frames are located as indicated on the plans and <br />constructed as shown. <br /> <br />6. OPENINGS BETWEEN the garage and residence shall be equipped with either solid wood <br />doors not less than 1 3/6 inches in thickness or 20-minute fire rated doors. [Sec. 309.1] <br /> <br /> <br />
