ATTACHMENT TO FLOODPLA1N/GREENWAY DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION

CRAIG AND LAURIE ROBERTS
24085 N.E. BUTTEVILLE ROAD
AURORA, OREGON 97002
HOME: 503-678-1562
WORK: 503-655-8218
PAGER: 503-274-3466

COlq'ERACTORS:

JOE BERIffERT TOWING CO., INC.
TOM BERNIq1T
1~.O. BOX 23814 TIGARD, OR. 97'281
PHONE: 503-684-3460
FAX: 503-684-0954

During the flood of Felmmry of 1996 our property on tim Willmne~e river suffered a
significant landslide. In order to protect our property and residence we propose
constngting a retaining wall.

I have retained James Imbrie an eng/neer with Carlson Testing, Inc. who will ceaify the
structural integrity of this stmctore. James Imbrie and other colleagues from his office
have reviewed the slope failure on numerous occasions. On 6-%97 Carlson Testing
performed two sample borings to a maximum depth of 30 feet. Soil samples were
collected at five foot intervals. These samples are currently being tested for water
content and soil classification. James lmbrie investigation will include geoteehnical
studies consisting of field explorations, laborato~ testing and engineering analyses.

James Imbfie has recommended the retaining wall as described below. James Imbrie a
registered engineer will give his stamp of approval for this structure and is forthcoming.
I am submitting this application now to hopefully expedite the permit process because
the window of opportunity to complete this project is limited. Due to weather and other
problems out of my conlrol testing was not able to begin until just reeently. I would
anticipate further damage if the projcct is not completed this summer.
