MA ANCHORS. The maximum spacing for a MA-4 mudsiII anchor is 3 1/2 feet on center. <br />The maximum spacing for a MA-6 mudsill anchor is 4 and one half feet on center. (Simpson <br />product and instruction manual) <br /> <br />2. PROTECTIVE COVERING, Foundation wails and the edges of slab-on-grade floors with <br />exterior applied insulation shall have a rigid, opaque and weather resistant protective covering, <br />Extend covering a minimum 6 inches belc~ grade. [Sec, 407.1] <br /> <br />GROUND CLEARANCE. Wood siding, sheathing and wall framing on the exterior of a building <br />having a clearance of less than 6" to the ground shall be pressure treated or decay resistant <br />heartwood of redwood, black locust, or cedar. {Sec. 322.1(5)] <br /> <br />3. BASE. A 4 inch thick base course consisting of clean graded sand, gravel, or crushed stone <br />shall be placed on the prepared subgrade when the slab is below grade. Exception: 'i'he base <br />course is not required when the slab is installed on well drained or sand-gravel soils. Check with <br />your building inspector. [Sec. 505.2.2] <br /> <br />4. VAPOR BARRIER. An approved vapor barrier with joints lapped not less than 12 inches shall <br />be p~aced between the concrete floor slab and the base course or subgrade. Exception: The <br />vapor barrier may be omitted from detached garages, utility buildings and other unheated <br />accessory structures. [Sec .505.2.3] <br /> <br />5. BP, PF ATTACHED. This structure uses a combination of Brace Wall Panels (BP) and Portal <br />Frame(s) to meet the code requirements for lateral wall bracing. Insure that all BP's and Portal <br />Frame(s) are located es indicated on the plans and constructed as shown on the plans and the <br />attached detail sheets. <br /> <br />6. WATER DISPERSAL. When dwellings have a controlled method of water disposal from <br />roofs, all roof drainage shall be collected and discharged to the ground surface at least 5 feet <br />from the foundation walls, or to an approved drainage system. [Sec. 801.3, 801.4] Approved <br />drywells must be located at least 10 feet from the building. <br /> <br /> <br />
