L SUMMARY
Public Restroom Facilities at Antique Powerland
Three pending building permits (11-06987, 11-004821, 12-00810) have
been held up because the building don't meet the specific requirements for public
restrooms in A-3 buildings. This analysis is a comprehensive review of
Powerland uses, attendance, current restroom capacities and history of A-3
building construction beginning in 1993.
Key Points
• There are 11 A-3 buildings completed (6) or under construction
(2) at Powerland. None of these buildings contain public
restrooms.
• There are two A-3 buildings that had restrooms required in
permit and plans but do not contain them in the finished
building, (possible reasons are discussed).
• Antique Powerland has public restrooms with a capacity for
2250 people. Daily attendance at Powerland (non-event) rarely
exceeds 50 people and on one occasion reached 200.
• Portable restrooms are used to supplement permanent
L restrooms for large events.
• Powerland proposes that the buildings under review be exempt
from including public restrooms because adequate restrooms
are within 500', buildings are seldom used, and they do not
have sewer service.
• Powerland proposes that all corporations on the site be formally
notified that future, large and more complex A-3 buildings will be
required to contain public restrooms as described in 2902, table
A-29.
Charles Philpot
3-27-12
