660 8TH S~ <br />May 17, 1994 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />15. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />Wood framed walls a minimum of two feet and less than four feet wide at <br />garage door openings shall be provided with approved hold-down anchors <br />at each end of each wall segment. The hold-downs shall connect the wall <br />studding to the concrete foundataion. An alternate design which is <br />designed to resist an 80 mile per hour wind load may be submitted to <br />Marion County for review with details shown on the plans and design <br />calculations showing compliance with this requirement. <br /> <br />Any braced wall panel required by section R-402.10 may be replaced by an <br />alternate braced wall panel constructed in accordance with the <br />following~ <br /> <br />In one-story buildings, each panel shall harm a length of not less <br />than 2 feet 8 inches. Each panel shall be sheathed on one face <br />with 3/8 inch minimum thickness plywood sheathing and blocked at <br />all plywood edges with nominal 2 inch material. Each panel end <br />stud shall be provided with a tie-down device capable of providing <br />an approved uplift capacity of not less than 1800 pounds. Two <br />anchor bolts shall be provided in each panel. Anchor bolts shall <br />be placed approximately at panel quarter points. The panels shall <br />be supported directly on a foundation or on floor framing <br />supported directly on a foundation or footing eot less than 10 <br />feet in length and centered under the panel. The foundation shall <br />be reinforced with not less than one #4 bar top and bottom. <br />Foundation walls shall be tied to footings by not less than #4 <br />verticl~ bars and 24" c.c. <br /> <br />A readily accessible attic access shall be provided to any attic area <br />having a clear height of ever 30 inches. A framed opening not less than <br />22 in. by 30 in. is required. (R-708) <br /> <br />Energy Path #1 is based on R-21 wall insulation, R~25 underfloor <br />insulatiion, R-30 vaulted ceiling insulation, R-38 flat ceiling <br />insulation, R-21 basement walls, R-15 slab floor edge insulation, R-8 <br />forced air duct insulation, 0.40 U-value window class, 0.50 U-value <br />skylight class, 0.54 U-value main entry door with a maximum of 24 square <br />feet and 0.20 U-value doors, other than the main entry (including th~ <br />door between the heated dwelling and the unheated garage). <br /> <br />Approval as a result of this plan review or an inspection shall not be <br />construed to be an approval of a violation of the provisions of the dwelling <br />code or of other ordinances of the jurisdiction. Reviews or inspections <br />presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the <br />dwelling code or of other ordinances of the jurisdiction shall not be valid. <br /> <br />DAW <br /> <br />"APPROVED" only when this sheet is attached to plans <br /> <br /> <br />
