(Appendix 1111) The number of exit doors shown on the <br />foundation plan is acceptable. <br /> <br />Exit openings shall be not less than 2 ft. 6 in. by 6 ft. S in. <br />(Appendix 1111) Exit doors shall be of the pivoted or side-hinged <br />swinging type. (510(a)) <br /> <br />The Mesco Metal Building Corporation plans submitted do not show enough <br />information for a structural plan review of the pre-engineered metal <br />building. Submit (2) structural plans that show frame dimensions <br />(member depth, plate width and thickness, etc.) and connection details. <br />Include endwall details and X-bra~ing. Submit (1) set calculations of <br />structural design calculations for the building. <br /> <br />The design of steel used structurally in buildings shall conform to the <br />requirements specified in U.B.C Chapter 27 and U.B.C. Standard NO. 27-1. <br />Where the design uses ASTM A-36 steel with yield strength (Fy) greater <br />than 36 ksi, as an alternate material, the metal building designer shall <br />submit mill certifications showing the yield strength from tests on the <br />steel incorporated into the building exceed the design Fy by 10%. (105) <br /> <br />A water supply sufficient to control a potential fire is required. See <br />Appendix III-A of the Uniform Fire Code. Contact the local fire <br />department and Deputy State Fire Marshal for requirements. The chief <br />shall establish the minimum residual pressure and flow duration when <br />determining fire flow. (U.F.C. 10.401) An acceptable water supply is <br />to be in place prior to combustible construction and/or occupancy of the <br />structures. <br /> <br />Portable fire extinguishers shall be provided and installed as required <br />by applicable standards and as directed by the authority having <br />jurisdiction. (U.F.C. 10.~05; U.F.C. Std. NO. 10-1) <br /> <br />Approval of submitted plans is not an approval of omissions or oversights by <br />this office or of noncompliance with any applicable regulations of local <br />government. <br /> <br />This project may be subject to the architectural standards of the Americans <br />with Disabilities Act Of 1990 (ADA). Issuance of a building permit does not <br />certify compliance with this Federal Statute. Copies of the guidelines and <br />information concerning the ADA may be obtained from the Architectural and <br />Transportation Sarriers Compliance Board, 1-202-653-7834 (Voice/TDD) or <br />1-800 USA-ABLE. Failure to comply with the ADA may result in Federal Fines <br />and penalties. <br /> <br />Local Fire Districts may have additional requirements that affect this <br />project.
