Page 2 <br /> <br />Exterior and foundation wall panels of frame construction shall be <br />braced with approved structural sheathing or 1-inch by 4-inch let in <br />braces. Structural sheathing and 1-inch by 4-inch let-in braces shall be <br />installed as per Table NO. R-402.10. (R-402.10) <br /> <br />CONDITION 1 TYPE OF BRACE AMOUNT OF BPd%CING 2 3 <br />One Story. 1-by 4-inch let-in Located at each end and <br />Top of two or three bracing or structural at least.every 25 feet <br />story, sheathin~ ............... of wall leh~th. <br />First story of two Structural sheathing. 25 percent of wall <br />story, length to be sheathed. <br />Second story of three <br />First story of three Structural sheathing. 40 percent of wall <br />story, length to be sheathed. <br /> <br />1 Foundations wall panels braced same as story above. <br />2 Where structural sheathing is used, each braced panel must be at least 48 <br /> inches in width. <br />3 Structural sheathing and let-in bracing shall be located at each end or as <br /> near thereto as possible. <br /> <br />9. Any braced wall panel required by Section R-402.10 may be replaced by an <br /> alternate braced wall panel constructed in accordance with the <br /> following: <br /> <br /> A. In one-story buildings, each panel shall have a length of not less <br /> than 2 feet 8 inches. Each panel shall be sheathed on one face <br /> with 3/8 inch minimum thickness plywood sheathing and blocked at <br /> all plywood edges with nominal 2 inch material. Each panel end <br /> stud shall be provided with a tie-down device capable of providing <br /> an approved uplift capacity of not less than 1800 pounds. Two <br /> anchor bolts shall be provided in each panel. Anchor bolts shall <br /> be placed approximately at panel quarter points. The panels shall <br /> be supported directly on a foundation or on floor framing <br /> supported directly on a foundation or footing not less than 10 <br /> feet in length and centered under the panel. The foundation shall <br /> be reinforced with not less than one ~4 bar top and bottom. <br /> Foundation walls shall be tied to footings by not less than #4 <br /> vertical bars at 24" c.c. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Roof trusses are required to be designed by an Oregon registered <br />Engineer or Architect. For trusses manufactured by an approved <br />fabrication plant, have the design and layout drawings available at the <br />construction site for the framing inspection. All job site cutting or <br />modification of the roof trusses shall be clearly shown in the <br />engineer's design calculations and drawings. If trusses are to be built <br />at the job site, submit the engineer's design and construction plans to <br />the Marion County Building Department prior to start of construction and <br />have the approved drawings available at the site for the framing <br />inspection. <br /> <br />"APPROVED" only when this sheet is attached to plans <br /> <br /> <br />
