SAND FILTER SYSTEM CONSTHUCTION DETAIL SHEET <br /> <br />March 3, 1994 <br /> <br />APPLICANT: <br />SITE NUMBER: <br /> <br />KEVIN HILLS <br />94-823 <br /> <br />REPLACEMENT SYSTEM <br /> <br /> Your site has been found suitable for a SAND FILTER ALTERNATIVE SEWAGE <br />DISPOSAL SYSTEM. The following construction specifications shall apply to the <br />installation of your septic system. <br /> <br /> 1. The septic tank shall have a minimum liquid capacity of 1000 <br /> gallons. <br /> <br />The projected daily sewage flow for this project is calculated at <br />450 qallons per da~. Based on soil conditions observed on this <br />site, the disposal field will be sized at 45 lineal feet per 150 <br />lallons of projected daily sewage flow. A minimum of 135 lineal <br />feet of disposal field will be required for your proposed develop- <br />ment. The disposal trenches are constructed two (2) feet wide and <br />on minimum ten (10) foot centers and with no line exceeding 125 <br />feet in length. The trenches and perforated pipe are installed <br />level (±1") and contoured to follow the natural ground surface. <br /> <br />The disposal field shall be constructed with serial distribution <br />with a minimum trench depth of 24 inches and a maximum trench <br />depth of 3~ inches. There must be at least 12 inches of backfill <br />over the top of the gravel, measured from the natural ground <br />surface. <br /> <br /> 4. The sand filter system shall be designed and operated as per OAR <br /> 340-71-290 through 340-71-305. Detailed plans for the system must <br /> be submitted prior to permit issuance. A building permit is <br /> required if a site built concrete box is used as the sand filter <br /> container. A pamphlet is available in our office which details the <br /> requirements for a sand filter system. <br /> <br /> This approval is site specific to the area tested and the septic system <br />must be located in the immediate area of the test pits unless otherwise autho- <br />rized by this office. A new site evaluation may be required if the system is <br />proposed for a different area on the property. <br /> <br />SPECIAL CONDITIONS: <br /> A pre-construction field stakeout is recommended to establish the <br /> locations and elevations of the individual drainfield lines and to <br /> ensure the lower sand filter drainfield can meet the required twenty- <br /> five feet setback from downslope cuts and ditches. <br /> <br />THIS IS NOT A PERMIT TO INE~?.?.
