<br /> APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
<br /> 1. Maximum Spans
<br /> Regular SkidGuard can be applied
<br /> directly over framing. For f~,t instal[a-
<br /> lions only, No sub-flooring is required,
<br /> See Load Span Tables for allowable
<br /> uniform Icad per square foot.
<br /> 2. F~tening
<br /> Use only stainless steel or hot-
<br /> dipped galvanized spiral or,?g
<br /> shank nails. Nail at least 3/8 from
<br /> edge of panel to prevent possible
<br /> sudace cracking. For docks, marine
<br /> applications or other wet areas, cOr-
<br /> rOsion resistant bolts Or screws are
<br /> best. Pre-drill screw holes and count-
<br /> ersink with caution. Washers should
<br /> be used with bolts to provide a
<br /> greater bearing surface,
<br /> 3. Edge Joints
<br />See Figures 1.2 and 3 for handling
<br />edge joints in the field, Edges ct
<br />panels must not have direct contact
<br />with water,
<br />4. Caulking
<br />Use a good quality caulk on all joint,s,
<br />Avoid oil-based caulks and glazing
<br />materials, Be sure to obtain squeeze-
<br />out on full length of the ioint, No caulk
<br />oint is ideal and Regular SkidGuard
<br />shou d not be spec lied for roofs or
<br />places where absolute water-proof-
<br />~ng is required. The illustrated joints
<br />should be satisfactory for most
<br />decks and balconies.

<br /> 5. Machining
<br /> Regular SkidGuard can be sawn,
<br /> shaped, routed or iointed with ordi-
<br /> nary care. using high-speed, pro-
<br /> fessional quality power tools. Use
<br /> carbide-tipped blades for cutting,
<br /> adjusting arbor so that blade extends
<br /> 1/2" through panel. Feed material Io
<br /> saw slowly,
<br /> 6, Drilling
<br /> It appearance on back is important,
<br /> panel should be backed up to avoid
<br /> chipping as drill bit breaks,, through.
<br /> Do not drill closer than V4 lo the
<br /> edge of the paneL,"
<br /> 7. Durability
<br />Regular SkidGuard will provide years
<br />of service when installed as described,
<br />However, wood will decay when sub-
<br />jected to periods of prolonged moisture
<br />conditions. Free air circulation benealh
<br />the panel is crucial for long lile. Do
<br />not install Regular Sk/dGuard over
<br />existing lumber or plywood decking
<br />in exterior applications. Joists and
<br />blocking members should be con-
<br />structect with preservative-treated or
<br />naturally decay resistant wood for
<br />maximum tile in exterior applications,
