SAND FILTER SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION DETAIL SHEET September 29, APPLICANT: SITE NUHSER= 1993 BOB HOLT 93-3172 SAND FILTER PLUS CAPPING F~LL REPAIR Your site has been found suitable for a SAND FILTER ALTERNATIVE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM. The following construction specifications shall apply to the installation of your septic system. 1. The septic tank shall have a minimum liquid capacity of 1000 gallons. The projected daily sewage flow for this project is calculated at 450 qallons pe.r day. Eased on soil conditions observed on this site, the disposal field will be sized at 50 lineal feet per 150 ~allon~ of projected daily sewage flow. A minimum of 150 lineal fee~. of disposal field will be required for your proposed develop- ment. The disposal trenches are constructed two (2) feet wid~ and on minimum ten (10) foot centers and with no line exceeding 125 feet in length. The trenches and perforated pipe are installed level (il") and contoured to follow the natural ground surface. The disposal field shall be constructed with 9qual distribution with a minimum trench depth of 32 inches and a maximum trench depth of 12 inches. There must be at least 16 inches of backfill over the top of the gravel, measured from the natural ground surface. The sand filter system shall be designed and operated as per OAR 340-?~-290 through 340-71-305. Detailed plans for the system must be submitted prior to permit issuance. A building permit is required if a site built concrete box is used as the sand filter container. A pamphlet is available in our office which details the requirements for a sand filter system. A capping fill is required with this system. The system shall be constructed as indicated on the attached Capping Fill construction detail sheet. An effluent lift pump may be necessary to construct the disposal field ia the approved area and at the correct depth. This approval is sit~ specific to the area tested and the septic system must be located in the immediate area of the test pits unless otherwise autho- rized by this office. A new site evaluation may be required if the system is proposed fo~ a different area on the property. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: The existing septic tank must be pumped and properly abandoned. Observe all normal setback/separation distances. Note the capping fill part of this installation and the requirement for dry soil summer season construction. Plans for the repair should be submitted for review as soon as possible. Permits cannot be issued for the repair prior to the plan review and approval. THIS IS NOT A PERMIT TO INSTALL THE SEPTIC SYSTEM. DO NOT INSTALL T~E SYSTEM UNTIL A VALID PERMIT HAS BEEN ISSUED BY THIS OFFICE.
