SAND FILTER SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION DETAIL SHEET <br /> <br />September 29, <br /> <br />APPLICANT: <br />SITE NUHSER= <br /> <br />1993 <br /> <br /> BOB HOLT <br /> 93-3172 <br /> SAND FILTER PLUS CAPPING F~LL REPAIR <br /> <br /> Your site has been found suitable for a SAND FILTER ALTERNATIVE SEWAGE <br />DISPOSAL SYSTEM. The following construction specifications shall apply to the <br />installation of your septic system. <br /> <br />1. The septic tank shall have a minimum liquid capacity of 1000 <br /> gallons. <br /> <br />The projected daily sewage flow for this project is calculated at <br />450 qallons pe.r day. Eased on soil conditions observed on this <br />site, the disposal field will be sized at 50 lineal feet per 150 <br />~allon~ of projected daily sewage flow. A minimum of 150 lineal <br />fee~. of disposal field will be required for your proposed develop- <br />ment. The disposal trenches are constructed two (2) feet wid~ and <br />on minimum ten (10) foot centers and with no line exceeding 125 <br />feet in length. The trenches and perforated pipe are installed <br />level (il") and contoured to follow the natural ground surface. <br /> <br />The disposal field shall be constructed with 9qual distribution <br />with a minimum trench depth of 32 inches and a maximum trench <br />depth of 12 inches. There must be at least 16 inches of backfill <br />over the top of the gravel, measured from the natural ground <br />surface. <br /> <br />The sand filter system shall be designed and operated as per OAR <br />340-?~-290 through 340-71-305. Detailed plans for the system must <br />be submitted prior to permit issuance. A building permit is <br />required if a site built concrete box is used as the sand filter <br />container. A pamphlet is available in our office which details the <br />requirements for a sand filter system. <br /> <br /> A capping fill is required with this system. The system shall be <br />constructed as indicated on the attached Capping Fill construction detail <br />sheet. <br /> <br /> An effluent lift pump may be necessary to construct the disposal field <br />ia the approved area and at the correct depth. <br /> <br /> This approval is sit~ specific to the area tested and the septic system <br />must be located in the immediate area of the test pits unless otherwise autho- <br />rized by this office. A new site evaluation may be required if the system is <br />proposed fo~ a different area on the property. <br /> <br />SPECIAL CONDITIONS: <br /> The existing septic tank must be pumped and properly abandoned. Observe <br /> all normal setback/separation distances. Note the capping fill part of <br /> this installation and the requirement for dry soil summer season <br /> construction. Plans for the repair should be submitted for review as <br /> soon as possible. Permits cannot be issued for the repair prior to the <br /> plan review and approval. <br /> <br />THIS IS NOT A PERMIT TO INSTALL THE SEPTIC SYSTEM. DO NOT INSTALL T~E SYSTEM <br /> <br />UNTIL A VALID PERMIT HAS BEEN ISSUED BY THIS OFFICE. <br /> <br /> <br />
