Page 2 <br /> <br />7. Every sleeping room shall have at least one operable window approved for <br /> emergency egress or rescue. The window sill height shall not be more <br /> than 44 inches above the floor. The minimum net clear opening width <br /> dimension shall be 20 inches. The minimum net opening height shall be <br /> 24 inches. The minimum net clear opening area shall be at least 5.7 <br /> square feet. (R-210.2) <br /> <br />8. Openings between the garage and residence shall be equipped with either <br /> solid wood doors not less than 1 3/8 inches in thickness or 20-minute <br /> fire rated doors, or equivalent. (R-209.1) <br /> <br />9. Smoke detectors shall be installed outside of each separate sleeping <br /> area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional <br /> story of the dwelling including basements. In dwelling units with split <br /> levels, a smoke detector need be installed only on the upper level, <br /> provided the lower level is less than one full story below the upper <br /> level, except that if there is a door between levels then a detector is <br /> required on each level. All detectors shall be interconnected such that <br /> the actuation of one alarm will actuate all the alarms in the individual <br /> unit and shall provide an alarm which will be audible in all sleeping <br /> areas. (R-215.1) <br /> <br /> 10. In new construction, required smoke detectors shall receive their <br /> primary power from the building wiring and when primary power is <br /> interrupted, shall receive power from a battery. (R-215.2) <br /> <br /> 11. Roof trusses are required to be designed by an Oregon registered <br /> Engineer or Architect. For trusses manufactured by an approved <br /> fabrication plant~ have the design and layout drawings available at the <br /> construction site for the framing inspection. All job site cutting or <br /> modification of the roof trusses shall be clearly shown in the <br /> engineer's design calculations and drawings. If trusses are to be built <br /> at the job site, submit the engineer's design and construction plans to <br /> the Marion County Building Department prior to start of construction and <br /> have the approved drawings available at the site for the framing <br /> inspection. <br /> <br /> 12, Water heaters having nonrigid water connections and over 4-feet in <br /> height from the base to the top of the tank case shall be anchored or <br /> strapped to the building to resist horizontal displacement due to <br /> earthquake motion. (M-1006.2) <br /> <br /> Approval as a result Of this plan review or an inspection shall not be <br /> construed to b~ an approval of a violation of the provisions of the dwelling <br /> code or of other ordinances of the jurisdiction.
