In dwelling units with split <br />levels, a smoke detector need be installed only on the upper level, <br />provided the lower level is less than one full story below the upper <br />level, except that if there is a door between levels then a detector is <br />required on each level. All detectors shall be connected to a sounding <br />device or other detectors to provide, when actuated, an alarm which will <br />be audible in all sleeping areas. (R-215.1) <br /> <br />Joists under bearing partitions shall be doubled or a beam of equivalent <br />size shall be provided. Double joists which are separated to permit the <br />installation of piping er vents ahall be solid blocked spaced a maximum <br />of 4 feet on center. (R-203.3) <br /> <br />INSULATION REQUIt~EMENTS= Provide insulation as followa= ceiling R-38 <br />(vaulted ceiling R-19) walls R-19 and under floor R-19. <br /> <br />Buildings with high-efficiency heating equipment (Heat Pumps w/ COP of <br />2.7 or Gas or Oil w/ 80% A~UE rating) may be insulated as follows: <br />ceiling R-30 (roof/ceiling assemblies in which has a slope of 3 in 12 or <br />greater, may be R-19), walls R-11, underfloors R-19. <br /> <br />Provide lateral bracing for support ~osts at deck. <br /> <br />Footings and basement walls inspected and approved prior to completed <br />plan review. <br /> <br />Approval as e result of this plan review or an inspection shall not be <br />construed to be an approval of a violation of the provisions of the dwelling <br />code or of other ordinances of the Jurisdiction.
