(R-203.1) <br /> <br />Every sleeping room shall have at least one operable window <br />approved for emergency egress or rescue. The window sill <br />height shall not be more than 44 inches above the floor. <br />The minimum net clear opening height dimension shall be 20 <br />inches. The minimum net opening height shall be 24 inches. <br />The minimum net clear opening area shall be at least 5.7 <br />square feet. (R-210.2) <br /> <br />The garage shall be completely separated from the residence <br />and its attic area by means of 1/2-inch gypsum board or <br />equivalent applied to the garage side. The door between the <br />garage and residence shall be equipped with solid wood doors <br />not less than 1 3/8 inches in thickness or equivalent. <br />(R-209.2) <br /> <br />Smoke detectors shall be installed outside of each separate <br />sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and <br />on each additional story of the dwelling including base- <br />ments. In dwelling units with split levels, a smoke detector <br />need be installed only on the upper level, provided the <br />lower level is less than one full story below the upper <br />level, except that if there is a door between levels then a <br />detector is required on each level. Ail detectors shall be <br />connected to a sounding device or other detectors to <br />provide, when actuated, an alarm which will be audible in <br />all sleeping areas. (R-215.1) <br /> <br />Provide attic ventilation. The net free ventilating area <br />shall be not less than 1 to 150 of the area of the space <br />ventilated. (R-307) <br /> <br />Wood trusses shall be designed in accordance with approved <br />engineering practice. Trusses shall be braced according to <br />their appropriate engineered design. Truss members shall not <br />be cut or altered unless so designed. (R-702.9) <br /> <br />Roof trusses are required to be designed by an Oregon <br />registered Engineer or Architect. For trusses manufactured <br />by an approved fabrication plant, have the design and layout <br />drawings available at the construction site for the framing <br />inspection. All job site cutting or modification of the <br />roof trusses shall be clearly shown in the engineer's design <br />calculations and drawings. If trusses are to be built at <br />the job site, submit the engineer's design and construction <br /> <br />"APPROVED" only when this sheet is attached to Dlans. <br /> <br /> <br />
