Schmidtman~ <br />attorney for applicants <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />RECEIVE APPEALS TO <br />REFERRALS FROM PLANNING <br />COMMISSION: <br /> <br />Major Partitioning 78-84, <br />H~j..~_, File #2495, appealed <br />by Jerald M. Butler and <br />Malcom C. Nichols <br /> <br />A letter of recommendation from the Oregon State Speed Control <br />Board concerning speed zoning on Aumsville Highway (S.E. llth <br />Street) was received. The Director of Public Works indicated <br />his concurrence with the State Speed Control Board in <br />reducing speed to 30 miles per hour on those sections indi- <br />cated in the exhibit attached to the letter. <br /> <br />Commissioner Carson questioned whether this change applied <br />to the road between Turner and Aumsville~ however~ Mr. Anderson <br />affirmed the sections of road concerned were all within the <br />City of Aumsville. <br /> <br />Commissioner Carson moved the Board adopt the recommendation <br />of the State Speed Control Board for speed zoning on the <br />Aumsvtlle Highway. Motion seconded by Chairman McCarthy. So <br />ordered. <br /> <br />A request was received from the Department of Public Works <br />for authori2ation to install five (5) "25 MPH" speed zone <br />signs on Greentree Drive SE. At~ached to the request was a <br />diagram showing the proposed location for such signs. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson pointed out this request also includes two stop <br />signs as mentioned in Item 2 above. <br /> <br />Con~issioner Carson moved 'the Board approve the request for <br />25 MPH speed zone signs on Greentree Drive SE. Chairman <br />McCarthy seconded the motion. So ordered. <br /> <br />A prepared.letter to Phillip O. Stearns of the Oregon Depart- <br />ment of Transportation regarding traffic control on Lancaster <br />Drive at Hayesville Drive (FAU 1615), Contract No. 6757, was <br />considered. Mr. Anderson~ Director of Public Works, <br />emphasized this agreement would reinforce the decision to <br />do the work, and would help in establishing priorities. <br /> <br />Commissioner Carson moved the Board approve and sign the <br />letter to Mr. Stearns concerning Lancaster Drive at Hayesville <br />Drive. Motion seconded by the Chairman. So ordered. <br /> <br />Chairman McCarthy noted an appeal had been received from <br />Kirk Schmidtman, attorney for the applicants, in Conditional <br />Use Case 78-72, Lofdahl and Reber. The application to locate <br />a second non-farm related dwelling on approximately II acres <br />in an Exclusive Fan~ Use zone on property located at the west <br />end and to tSe south of Fry Road at Route l, Box 248DR, <br />near Aurora, was denied by the Hearings Officer. <br /> <br /> issioner Carson moved ~he appeal iu Conditional Use 78-72~ <br /> Motion secondea by the Chairman, So ordered. <br /> <br /> noted the following appeals were received to <br />referrals from the Planning Commission: <br /> <br />An appeal was received from Jerald M. Butler and Malcom C. <br />Nichols to the Planning Con~ission's decision to deny the <br />major partitioning application of Muriel W.
