5.8 Hydrosplitter <br /> Materials <br /> The hydrosplitter shall be manufactured to the functional specifications shown in the plans.If the <br /> manufacturer cannot meet the specifications shown,the Designer shall be notified in writing. Since <br /> the hydrosplitter(as specified)is an integral part of the design,no functional substitutions will be <br /> allowed. <br /> Workmanship <br /> The hydrosplitter shall be installed on a level, stable base in accordance with the approved plans. <br /> Placement, assembly, and installation shall be conducted to facilitate easy operation,maintenance, <br /> repair,removal and replacement.Each hydrosplitter shall be protected from vehicular traffic by an <br /> adequate barrier(either locally available boulders or metal tee posts).Drawings of any approved "as <br /> built" changes shall be provided to the Inspector by the Installer. <br /> 5.9 Subsurface Soil Absorption System -Standard Trenches <br /> Materials <br /> • Drain Media— Clean, washed, round rock meeting the criteria in OAR 340-071-0100(53) <br /> with a preference for uniformity biased toward the smaller end of the acceptable range (3/4- <br /> inch size) shall be durable and free of excess fines,or EZflow—Model 1202H-Geo. <br /> • Filter Fabric—Meeting the criteria in OAR 340-073-0041 to cover the drain media from one <br /> sidewall to the other and from the beginning to the end of each trench. <br /> • Standard Effluent Distribution Piping and Fittings-See Materials section under Piping <br /> and Plumbing. <br /> • Distribution Boxes—Manufactured as outlined in OAR 340-73-0035 and installed with <br /> tight pipe connections to minimize root intrusion and effluent exfiltration. <br /> Workmanship <br /> The Installer shall stake out the effluent distribution system and the routing of all related <br /> components prior to initiating construction.Any obstacles,non-conforming grades, or other factors <br /> that would prohibit installation or modified locations shall be flagged for review with the Designer. <br /> Any modifications will require approval by the Designer.Drawings of any approved"as built" <br /> changes noting pertinent dimensions,reference points, and elevations shall be provided to the <br /> Inspector by the Installer. <br /> The bottom of each drainfield trench and the distribution piping shall be level within a tolerance of <br /> plus or minus one inch from the point of beginning(point where the distribution header is connected <br /> to the distribution box).Total trench depth shall be within the minimum and maximum limits shown <br /> on the approved plans.Raking of the bottom and sidewalls of the trenches may be necessary to <br /> remove smearing created during excavation.Roots greater than 1/2-inch in diameter shall be cut at <br /> the edge of the excavation and removed. <br /> Valley—Albany,OR East Salem Seventh-Day Adventist Church I P&S <br /> Doc:2023240054 East Salem Church PS.docx November 2023 I Page 8 <br />
