HOUSE — WINDOW SEALS <br /> The Owners were concerned about the two windows in the Master Bathroom <br /> (West side of the house) and the one window in the Northwest Bedroom (North side <br /> of the house), whether heat from the wildfire on the reported date-of-loss could have <br /> damaged seals around the windows. The two bathroom windows are awning-type, <br /> and the bedroom window is a single-hung. <br /> It is probable that the windows were exposed to elevated temperatures during <br /> the wildfire, enough to soften or melt some types of plastic. However, no noticeable <br /> heat damage to the exterior window materials (assumed to be vinyl) was observed. <br /> Upon opening the bathroom windows, the gasket around the perimeter of each <br /> window felt and appeared normal and adhered. Nothing unusual was observed at <br /> the bedroom window. All three windows were operational. Internal and other seals <br /> would need to be inspected, tested, or verified by the window manufacturer. Caulking <br /> and weatherproofing all the windows should be included in the prep work for re- <br /> painting the exterior of the house.
