Seeking rights of redress from
Governmental Entities
From July 2005 thru February 2006 a total of 1100
children were taken into “drug protective” custody in Marion
County. This is a reflection of conditions in our beloved Marion County.
Doesn’t it make you want a change?
Marion County’s efforts are woefully short at
stemming the illegal drug activity in our community. Our beloved City of
Salem has a crime rate 2 and 1/2 time the national average. Inadequate and
unfunded positions lead to this state of affairs. Marion County is also
without any semblance of “bioterrorism” leadership while
millions of tax dollars pile up.
Law enforcement (Sheriff and District Attorney) go
lacking (only four officers on patrol during critical hours). Marion County
is one and one-half times the size of the State of Israel. In contrast the
Marion County Board of Commissioners Office is overweighed with high priced
assistants and food is served at taxpayer expense. We as taxpayers are
currently paying the equivalent of 7 full time County Commissioners, while
we as voters only get to vote for 3.
Marion County is in excellent financial condition,
which includes Public Works, Health Department, and General Fund. Marion
County is poised to be in yet better financial condition as new businesses
such as the Keizer Station and other developments add millions to the
Marion County tax rolls. Yet the “leprosy” of illegal drugs
spread incredible sorrow, disease and crime to our community all because of
inadequate and unfunded programs of rehabilitation and enforcement.
All of Carl Pitt’s energy, background and life
experiences will be used to ensure
practical
government for all of our citizens. These
include adequate law enforcement funding for all regions (including
Interstate 5) of Marion County.
