<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Legal Secretary 2 <br />Class Code: <br />017 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$21.28 - $28.51 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br /> Non-Exempt 06 Administrative SupportDistrict Attorney <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Independently performs legal support activities of a complex clerical nature, which require specialized <br />training and skills; performs related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the supervision of an Legal Assistant Supervisor who assigns work, establishes goals, and <br />reviews results obtained for compliance with department policies, procedures and goals. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.May perform any of the duties of the Legal Secretary 1 class, but distinguished by a primary focus <br />on the duties listed below. <br />2.Performs a wide variety of advanced legal secretary works including document preparation, <br />maintenance of accurate and detailed records, verifying accuracy of information, researching <br />discrepancies, and recording information. Acts as notary public for the office. <br />3.Types, drafts, and proofreads a variety of legal documents from transcription, rough draft or verbal <br />instruction; examines legal documents for completeness and consistency; compose <br />correspondence and memoranda including simple legal documents. <br />4.Answers public inquiries; obtains information from clients for entry in departmental records. <br />5.Schedules and subpoenas witnesses for court appearances. <br />6.Backs-up other positions as needed. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
